SEAMEO 55th Anniversary Celebration

Greetings from SEAMEO SEN,

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) has been established to promote the development of education, science, and culture in Southeast Asian countries for more than a half-decade. SEAMEO as an inter-governmental organization by nature and privilege has followed the direction set by the education ministers of eleven Southeast Asian countries to support countries in achieving national educational objectives as well as a regional educational vision through bilateral and multilateral programs/activities in and beyond Southeast Asia. Furthermore, SEAMEO has 25 SEAMEO Regional Centres and 1 Network located in 10 countries of Southeast Asia.

Since its establishment in 1965, the organization has taken pride in its achievements over the years as Southeast Asia’s longest regional organization for promoting quality education, science, and culture. 

This year SEAMEO as an organization is 55 years old. SEAMEO Secretariat will set up a series of activities for the celebration of the 55th SEAMEO Anniversary (SEAMEO Day 2020) with the theme “Stronger Together for Quality, Accessible, and Responsive Education”.

Call for Applications for the SEAMEO Schools’ Network in 2020

Greetings from SEAMEO SEN,  
On the occasion of SEAMEO’s 55th Year Anniversary, the SEAMEO Secretariat initiates a project entitled “SEAMEO Schools’ Network 2020” aiming to serve as a “Network of Sharing and Development” platform among public and private educational institutions at all levels in 11 Southeast Asian countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam).
The member institutions will gain unique and beneficial opportunities to participate in the capacity development and innovative educational programmes designed for institutions, educational staff and students through both online and face-to-face platforms. The aforementioned programmes are initiated and conducted by the 26 SEAMEO Regional Centres and SEAMEO partners.

SEAMEO Secretariat cordially invite public and private educational institutions in 11 Southeast Asian countries at all levels consisting of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, technical and vocational schools/colleges/institutions, polytechnics, universities, special needs education centres, and non-formal education centres to apply online at The membership fee for being a member of SEAMEO Schools’ Network is free-of-charge.
